March 25, 1965MARGARET MAILANDER DIES SAT.
Mrs. Margaret Mailander, 80, wife of the late William P. Mailander of Wiota, died at 5:30 Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leona Thompson, 507 Locust street in Atlantic.
Mrs. Mailander, a longtime Wiota resident, had lived in Atlantic since 1960.
She was born on a farm northeast of Wiota June 8, 1884, the daughter of Fred and Anna Richter Ehrman and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. Following her marriage to Mr. Mailander at Adair, April 20, 1904, they farmed east of Wiota until moving to Wiota in 1942. Mr. Mailander died May 7, 1954. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church.
Surviving are a son, Harold Mailander of Wiota; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Thompson of Atlantic; three sisters, Elizabeth and Susie Ehrman of Wiota and Mrs. Ann McConnell of Haxtun, Colo.; a brother Fred Ehrman of Anita; four grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. Fr. Bernard C. Heese officiating.
Casketbearers were Howard McConnell, Fred Ehrman, Vincent Ehrman, Joe Ehrman [,] Eugene Ehrman, and Paul Ehrman.
Interment was in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery.
