Obituary.

Hattie K. Hancock, youngest daughter of Wm. and Martha Hancock, was born in this county Feb. 10, 1887. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at Five Mile Grove in July 1895, under the ministry of Rev. G. A. Deitrich. She lived a consistent christian life and when the end came passed peacefully away without a murmur or a struggle. Her disease was typhoid pneumonia fever. During her sickness she would sing her favorite songs such as "Sweet Peace the Gift of God's Love" and "Behold the Bridegoom." On Thursday evening before she died she spoke of the Sunday school and said there would be Sunday school in heaven. She passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 1899, aged twelve years and 15 days.

A father, mother, one brother and three sisters mourn her passing away but they sorrow not as they that have no hope. The funeral services were held at Five Mile Grove church Feb. 28, 1899, at 1 p.m., attended by a large company of sorrowing friends. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor R. C. F. Chambers, assisted by Rev. Rickles. After the services the remains were laid to rest in the Atlantic cemetery. R.C.
