MRS. A. T. HARRIS DEAD.

Mrs. A. T. Harris died at her home at Eighth and Maple streets, at four "clock Sunday morning, July 12. Arrangements for the funeral have been perfected. The service will be held at the M. E. church at two o'clock tomorrow, Tuesday, afternoon and the remains will be laid away in the Atlantic cemetery.

Mrs. Harris has been a sufferer from asthma for several years and for the past six months has been in a critical condition almost without interval. The disease overcame her strength by degrees and for several weeks the end has been expected. She was surrounded by her entire family yesterday when the summons came.

Myra Butler Harris was born May 17, 1843, in Indiana. She was married to A. T. Harris on June 3, 1858, in Randolph county Indiana, and two years later came to Cass county. The family home was established in Pymosa township and there the children were born. In 1890, Mr. and Mrs. Harris moved into Atlantic where they have lived since. Mrs. Harris' children are, E. E. Harris, H. F. Harris, Mrs. Ona Conine and J. A. Harris, all of Atlantic, and Mrs. Lou Ergenbright of West Superior, Wis. Besides those sons and daughters, two brothers, J. W. Butler of Pymosa, R. B. Butler of this city and Mrs. F. O. Smith, of Pymosa, a sister, are permitted to remain with the husband to attest the upright life and gentle spirit of this departed woman.

Mrs. Harris became a Christian at the age of thirteen years and joined the Methodist church. That was almost a half century ago, but the passing time did not wear away the sincerity of her girlish avowal, it rather increased the earnestness of it and Mrs. Harris gave to the world a legacy of untold benefit, a Christian life.
