Mary Curry

“Funeral services for Mary Curry, 66, of 809 Locust street, were held at 2 o’clock this afternoon [January 12] at the Methodist church, the Rev. Donald C. Bissinger officiating. Miss Curry died at 10:55 Saturday morning [January 10] at the Atlantic Memorial hospital following a long illness.

She was born in Atlantic Feb. 26, 1892, the daughter of John and Harriett Abbie Hallock Curry and had lived here all her life. She was graduated from the Atlantic high school in 1910 and attended Kearney Teachers college at Kearney, Nebr. She taught and was a bookkeeper a number of years. Miss Curry was a member of the First Methodist church and D.A.R.

Surviving are a brother, Ralph J. Curry of Brayton, a nephew and two nieces and a cousin, Mrs. Hugh Allen of Atlantic.

Mrs. Harl Holt, accompanied by Mrs. John F. Bergstrom, sang “Abide With Me” and “Beautiful Isle” at services this afternoon. Mrs. Zola Carey and Esther Butler were in charge of flowers and serving as casket bearers were Ralph Cockshoot, Charles C. Ruhr, Scott Pollock, Boyd Cambridge, George Olsen and Fred Cornell. Interment was in the Atlantic cemetery.” END
