Mrs Baker, 78 Dies At Home West Of Lewis

Mrs Charlotte Ann Baker, 78 died at her home in Cass Township West of Lewis Sunday morning at 9 a.m.after several months illness. Death was attributted to the complications and old sge.
The daughter of George and Ann J.(Maine) Lewis. She was born near Galesburg ILL. (Note:by submitter She was born in Dover Township Bureau Co. IL.)at the age of 6 years she with her parents by covered wagon to Cass County where they settled in the Five Mile Grove neighborhood, Northeast of Atlantic, in 1870 (Should read 1880) she married at Grove City to Milton A. Baker. They lived South of Atlantic for 10 years, moving to her present home in 1893 where she resided since. She was a active member of the Methodist Church at Lewis, for many years.
Her husband died April 13 1920. She is survived by five children, Ira A. Baker of Model, Colo.; Alice M. Kinnersley of Villisca, Bertha A. Baker, Amy I. Baker and Ray T. Baker all of Lewis, three sisters Ellen Olds of Des Moines; Mrs Edwin Broadbooks of McPherson Kas. Mrs. Mary Woodcock of St. Clair, MO.; and a brother, JewettLewis of San Leandro, CAL.; 21 grandchildren. Two children proceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Lewis, Rev. A. Breceling of Lewis officiating. Burial will be at the Lewis cemetery. The body wll be taken from the Osborne-Tomilson funeral home tomorrow morning to the family home near Lewis where it will lie in state until the hour of the funeral.
