Obituary in The Daily Telegraph on August 21, 1900:
Mrs. Spies Dead
Mrs. Henry Spies died at her home in the southeast part of Franklin township, at the age of about fifty five years. She and her family are old residents of this county and have been very prosperous. She leaves an aged husband and six children to mourn her death. She was a sister to George Weber well known in this city and county. The funeral will be held at the home of the deceased at 2 o'clock p.m. Thursday of this week.
