obituary from probably the Anita or Atlantic, IA newspaper, March 1915

OBITUARY

(MRS. B. F. PARKER)

Hannah H. Akers, daughter of the
late Ralph Akers, and widow of B. F.
Parker, was born in Johnson county,
Iowa, October 30th, 1864, and died at
her home a short distance northwest
of Anita, Iowa, March 27th., 1915, at
the age of 50 years, 4 months and 25
days. She was united in marriage to
B. F. (Benjamin Franklin Parker 1862-1909)
Parker, in Atlantic, Iowa. Feb-
ruary 23rd., 1882, since which she has
resided in Cass county. Six children
were born to this union, five of whom
are living: one child having passed
away a number of years ago. The
children are Edith, Goldie, Ellsworth,
Lafayette and Bryan. Other near rel-
atives are two brothers; Ralph, Jr.,
and Lincoln Akers, of the Brayton
vicinity.

Mrs. Parker was ill but a short time,
and her condition was not considered
alarming until a few days prior to her
death. Her father, the late Ralph
Akers, died and was buried only a few
days before her passing, but on ac-
count of her condition she was not
told of her father's death, because of
the fact that she had worried much
concerning him. Mother Parker will
be missed, and her death mourned in
the neighborhood; but no place will
her absence be felt more than in the
home, by the children, to whom she was
a kind, loving and devoted mother.

Funeral services were held Monday,
at 2:00 o'clock at the Highland
Church, conducted by Rev. Robt. W.
Swick, pastor of the Anita M. E.
Church; interment being made in the
Highland Cemetery beside the remains
of her husband, who died a number of
years ago.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to thank all those who
were so kind during the sickness, and
at the death of our beloved mother;
the kindness and assistance being
greatly appreciated, as were also the
words of sympanthy in this time of sor-
row and breavement.

CHILDREN OF HANNA PARKER.
