Atlantic Class of 1928 Celebrates Reunion

The Atlantic High School class of 1928 held its 45-year reunion Saturday, June 30, at the Catholic Parish Center.

Sixty person, including 37 class members, attended the 7 p.m. dinner. Class members answered roll call with information about themselves and their families. Letters from those unable to attend were also read.

Mervin Curtis was master of ceremonies for the event. The class made plans for its 50-year reunion and new officers elected were Leo Thurman, president; Mildred McCarty, vice-president; Fern Herbert, secretary; and Evelyn Paterson, treasurer.

Those attending fom [sic from] a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Reid Boyle of Council Bluffs, Leo Dimig of Jefferson, Mr. [sic? Mo.] and Maurice Peterson and Mrs. Flossie Knop, all of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Conard of Ann Arbor, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lorenzen of Niles, Mich., Mary Morrison Brandt of Seattle, Wash., Doris Moore of Huntington Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nichols of Encinitas, Calif., and Robert Steffens of Ventura, Calif. Ronald Rapp of Long Beach, Calif., spoke to several of his classmates by telephone.
