Well Known Local Young People Wedded

Miss Lyla M. Bigelow, daughter of L. P. Bigelow, 519 Elm street, and Ellery M. Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Harris, 801 Mulberry street, were quietly married at 8 o’clock yesterday morning at the bride’s home, the Rev. E. A. Moore, pastor of the Atlantic Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. The bridal party was unattended and the only ones in attendance at the ceremony were the parents of the bride and groom.

The bride wore a gown of peach changeable taffeta, trimmed in peach lace.

Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. Harris’ brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hansen, 604 Elm street. A luncheon was given in their honor yesterday noon at the home of the groom’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Brenton Harris, at Griswold.

Mrs. Harris was graduated from the local high school last spring. During her high school career she was prominent in high school activities and in music work. Mr. Harris was graduated from the Atlantic high school in 1924 and attended Simpson college at Indianola for one year, later entering the employ of the Welch-Moore shoe store in Griswold, where he remained for a year, and was transferred to the Atlantic store of the concern shortly after it was opened. He continues in the employ of that company.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris left this morning for a two weeks vacation at the northern Iowa lakes and other points, after which they will be at home to their friends in Atlantic.
