GIVEN 1 YEAR SENTENCE
FOR THEFT OF CAR

Carl D. Archer, of near Atlantic,
was sentenced to one year at Fort
Madison for the theft of an automobile
belonging to Rasmus Nielsen of this
place (Exira). Archer took the car, a 1925
model Ford touring, from the streets
here last Wednesday night. The
sheriff was notified at once and
Thursday located the car and man he
wanted. Archer was brought to Au-
dubon and on Saturday Judge Mantz
passed sentence after a plea of guilty.

Archer was arrested in Atlantic last
year and charged with being impli-
cated in the robbery of homes in that
city, but was found not guilty after
a trial. He is now serving his term
at the prison and will have ample time
in which to conclude that "the way of
the transgressor is hard."
