JULIUS WESTPHALEN PUTS
HOLD-UP MEN TO FLIGHT

Last Saturday night near the C.
P. Meredith establishment in Atlantic,
Julius Westphalen (1883-1957), who resides south
of Brayton, bluffed two hold-up men.

Mr. Westphalen was walking along
the street alone when two men step-
ped from the shadows and demanded
money. He was slow in complying
with their demand and one said to the
other, "Hit him." Julius had an iron
in one pocket and pulling it out said,
"You fellows had better start in now."
And with that the would-be robbers
left for parts unknown as the Atlan-
tic police have been unable to find
any trace of them to date.
