BOTNA VALLEY BOY
SCOUT GALA DAY

________
Big Program of Field, Track
and Scout Sports for Two-
Day Session--Aug. 5-6

________

With a big schedule of events and
the outlook promising for a large
field of entrants, the first Botna
Valley district rally and field day for
all the troops and scouts within a
sixty mile radius will be held at
Crystal Lake, Lewis, August 5 and 6.
This is the first get-together meeting
of the kind ever held and it is planned
to stage them annually hereafter.
The aid of every scoutmaster in this
district is solicited with the idea in
mind of making this meeting a big
success as it is for the betterment
and the promotion of the Scout move-
ment.

Program.

The first day will be given over to
the track and field events and the
second day will feature a baseball
tournament to decide the champion
team of the towns or troops repre-
sented.

The field contests and sports in-
clude first aid races, message relays,
scout's space, Paul Revere, dressing
races, dashes, signaling, knot tying,
fire building, water boiling, obstacle
races and various other scout sports,
including, of course, swimming and
diving contests. Prizes will be given
to the winners of each event and also
to the high point winners.

National Representative.

For further information of the
meet, scouts or scoutmasters inter-
ested are asked to call or see Scout-
masters Billy Williams, 706 Birch
street, Atlantic, or Geo. C. Voss of
Exira.

It is planned, if possible, to have
one of the national Boy Scout head-
quarters representatives here for the
big gala day. Camping supervision
at the lake will be from August 4
to August 9.
