SOUTHSIDE ECHOES

The Spotted Poland pig club and
their families met at the home of
James Jensen last Thursday evening
and enjoyed a social time. The boys
held a short business session, followed
by music, after which the hostess
served a fine luncheon. The next
meeting of the club will be at the Joe
Swinehart home June 30.

The Farm Bureau convention of
the Ninth District, which was held
at Atlantic Tuesday, was attended
by a large delegation from this
(Audubon Township), they furnishinng
about one-third of the nearly 100
delegates from this county. But then,
why not? Look who Audubon town-
ship is. We are first in the alphabet,
first in membership and--well, will
tell the rest later. It was a very en-
thusiastic meeting and much good
should come of it. The next meeting
will be held at Atlantic sometime
during the fourth week in September.

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen of Ex-
ira are spending a few days at the
home of James Jensen.

The families of Fred Boehme and
Clarence Davis made a business trip
to Atlantic, Tuesday.

The pupils of District No. 9 enjoyed
a much needed rest last Tuesday
while their teacher, N. Jensen, at-
tended the convention in Atlantic.

J. L. Parker and family "enjoyed"
a couple of blowouts while on their
way to Atlantic. Some people are
born lucky.

Will Kirkham, while enroute to the
convention, Tuesday, found enough
shredded "fodder" to do him for the
next six months.
