PARALYTIC STROKE CAUSES DEATH OF AUGUST LONEMAN.
Well Known Maple River Resident Died Suddenly Last Thursday Afternoon.

August 30, 1862 - June 6, 1929

Stricken with paralysis while working in the garden of his home last week Tuesday morning, August Loneman, well known and highly respected Maple River resident, died Thursday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. His sudden death came as a shock to numerous friends, many of whom were unaware of his illness. Prior to his last illness, Mr. Loneman had enjoyed the best of health, being up and around every day.
Everything medical skill could do was resorted to in an effort to spare his life but it was evident that his days, were drawing to a close. Shortly after Noon of Thursday Mr. Loneman breatehed his last. During the days of his illness Mr. Loneman was surounded by his children, many of them coming from a distance and his faithful wife ever present at his bedside.
Mr. Loneman was a life long Catholic and was sustained In the closing hours of his life by the consoling ministrations of the Holy Sacraments of his faith. He was born August 31, 1863, at Lengerich, Hanover, Germany, and came to Carroll County in the year 1880 with his parents, Bernard and Anna Marie Loneman, settling near Breda. He was married to Agnes Schulte at Breda September 14, 1886. And lived on a farm in that vicinity for 13 years. Seven children were born to this union, namely Frank, Herman, Christina (Mrs. Ed Peters), August and Nicholas, all of Armour, South Dakota, and Mary (Mrs. Henry Schulte) of Emery, S.D. One daughter, Agnes, died in infancy. Later they farmed at Armour. S. D., for 16 years. His wife preceded him in death In 1920. In 1923 he returned to Carroll county and was married to his widowed brother's wife, Mrs. Anna Loneman at Maple River.

August Loneman will be missed by many. He was thoroughly devoted to his home and family. He just recently .Improved the home for greater convenience. Everyone liked him, he was so genuine and considerate of others. His friends were numerous, both young and old and all valued his companionship and counsel. As a husband he was kind and true and a father that was highly respected by his family. The unusually large assemblance of relatives as well as friends bowed in grief and mourning was a testimony of the loss felt, by his all too early demise.
The funeral was held Saturday morning from the family home to St. Francis Church. The Rev. Fr. Meyer officiating.
Interment was made in St. Francis cemetery at Maple River. Pallbearers were E. H. Fleskes, B. A. Pille, F.M. Rust, Henry Willeke. Frank Gute, and F. A. Hermsen.

Mrs. John Loneman and son, Louis of Little Rock, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. John Loneman and family, Ben Loneman, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Loneman, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duffner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bierl and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hiethoff, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Pletig and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hagerty and August Loneman, all of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bueltel and family of Roselle; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stangl of Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Heinrichs of Adrian, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fehring and family of Willmont, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wilberding of Lismore, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and family of Beresford, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schulte of Boston, Mass.; Mrs. Herman Schulte and daughter and, Mr. and Mrs. Will Underberg of Mt. Carmel; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schulte
