LAID TO REST.

Died, at the home of her son in Washington Township, Sunday morning at one o'clock, Mrs. Barbara Hoesley, at the ripe age of seventy-eight years.

The deceased had been in good health until about two weeks ago, when she was taken down with an attack of the grippe. Though of a robust nature, the cares of a long and useful life had told upon her constitution so that she never rallied from her sickness and in the stillness of Sunday morning the spirit of Mrs. Hoesley passed to the silent unknown.

The funeral ceremonies took place at the home of Peter Hoesely, Rev. Bruggeman delivering the sermon. After which the body was laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Switzerland, September 18, 1815, and was married in August 1838. In 1855 the couple came to America and settled upon a farm in Wisconsin where they lived until 1876 when they moved to Iowa. A husband and five children are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and kind mother.
