Joseph Testroet, 67, of Carroll was dead on arrival at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll Sunday evening Jan. 2.

Dr. Roland R. Morrison, Carroll County medical examiner, said that Mr. Testroet died of an apparent heart attack at 8 p.m. on Highway 30 in Carroll while riding in a car driven by his son, Kenneth. They were returning from Marshalltown.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Spirit Church by the Very Rev. Leo Lenz, V. F. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 7 p.m. Monday. The Holy Name Society of Holy Spirit parish will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Monday; Tuesday recitations will be a 3, 8 (parish) and 8:45 p.m.

Mr. Testroet was born Dec. 10, 1904, at Templeton, a son of Theodore and Sylvia Testroet. He spent his young manhood in the Templeton and Halbur vicinities. On Sept. 5, 1928, he was married to Sophia Meier at Holy Angels Church in Roselle. They farmed two miles south of Halbur and later, four miles north of Halbur until moving to 404 Lincoln, Carroll, in 1953. Mr. Testroet was employed by Lange's Dairy until retiring a year ago. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; six children, Mrs. Earl (Alvina) Huegerich of Rockwell City, Ronald, Paul and Kenneth of Carroll; Lawrence, in the Air Force at Minot, N. D.; and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Klocke of Marshalltown; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Ted Testroet of Audubon, John Testroet of Ogallala, Neb., Frank and William Testroet of Halbur; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Anstoeter and Mrs. John (Bertha) Buelt Sr., both of Halbur.

Mr. Testroet was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
