MANNING - Mrs. Clarence Grundmeier, 75, of Manning died Tuesday evening, Nov. 11, at Manning General Hospital. She had been in failing health for five years and entered the hospital eight days before her death.

Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with burial in the Manning Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Rushing, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Mrs. Grundmeier was the former Hulda Margaretha Jensen, daughter of Anton F. and Anna Jebsen Jensen. She was born at Maquoketa June 30, 1894. As a young girl she moved with her family to a farm near Smithland, and a year later to a farm south of Manning. In 1916 she came to Manning with her sister, Minnie, and they operated the Snow Dressmaking School.

Her marriage to Mr. Grundmeier took place Dec. 24, 1919, at Manning. They farmed near Halbur before moving to Manning.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Grant of Northwood; Mrs. Merlyn (Lorraine) Hargens, Manning; Mrs. Gale (Joanne) Moore, Manilla; Mrs. Elvin (Shirley) McConnell, Coon Rapids; and Gerald of Yucaipa, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, all of Manning: Fred Jensen, Mrs. Minnie Struve, Albert Jensen, Mrs. Nora Musfeldt, Mrs. Esther Popp, Gus Jensen and Mrs. Verna Atkins.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Slates.
