Jacob Lamm was born in North Carolina, December 22, 1825, departed this life March 19, 1906, being eighty years, two months and twenty-seven days old at the time of his death. When a child he removed with his parents to Madison county, Indiana. He was married to Belinda Dobson August 20, 1845, nine children blessed this union, five of whom with the aged wife, survive. They came to Tama county, Iowa, in 1853 at which place they resided for twenty-nine years, when they came with their family to Caroll (sic) county, Iowa, March 1, 1883, where they have since resided.
He united in early life with the Protestant Methodist church of which he remained a faithful member until death. In his life Mr. Lamm was quiet and unassuming but taught by precept and example the highest idea of manhood and citizenship, and lived an exemplary moral and religious life. The funeral service was conducted at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Rink. Many friends extend sympathy.
