Dedham (THNS)--Word came to Mr. and Mrs, Henry Bekehermes this morning from the war department that their only son, T/Sgt. Sylvester Bekehermes, died July 21 somewhere in the Asiatic area.

The 26-year-old soldier had gone into the service July 24, 1942, and had been overseas since Nov. 10, 1943.

Until entering the armed forces, he had assisted his father on the farm. The family lives 1 1/2 miles south of Dedham.

Besides his parents, Sgt. Bekehermes leaves three sisters, all of whom are at home: Mrs. William Soppe (Lucille), Rose and Viola.

He was a memeber of St. Joseph's church here.
