July 13, 1888 - Carroll Sentinel - Lizzie Newburg, aged 22 years, daughter of John Newburg, died Wednesday night after a brief illness at the home of Mr. H.O. Baird, where she had been living for the past four months. She had been ill for two or three days, but concealed the fact until last Friday evening, when a physician was summoned. The trouble at first was something in the nature of cholera morbus, and she endured it and went on with her work, and the very hot weather soon gave the ailment a fatal turn. The funeral will be held today at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church.
