July 6, 1943 - Carroll Times - J. Arthur Pascoe, 53, well known farmer, succumbed to a heart ailment at his home, 327 West Fifth Street at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. He had been in failing health for the past two years, but his last illness was of short duration. He was stricken with a heart attack early Sunday Monning. Funeral services were held this afternoon with the Rev Robert M Peters minister of the Methodist Church, officiating. Short rites at the Huffman Funeral Home at 2:15 were followed by the services at the Methodist Church at 2:30. The musical part of the services consisted consisted of the hymns, "The old Rugged Cross" and "Have Thine Own Way, Lord," sung by a quartet composed of C.M. Bayliss, Dr M Martin, L.E. Sweany and E.F. Osburn, accompanied by Mrs Earl Gary. Burial was in the Carroll Cemetery.
Mr Pascoe, who was known to his friends as "Art", was a member of a prominent Carroll family. The youngest of 4 sons of John B and Philippa Williams Pascoe, he was born Sept 22, 1889 on the Pascoe farm in the Beulah neighborhood, 4 miles west of Carroll. His parents had come to the Beulah district from Wisconsin in 1887. He grew to manhood on this farm of which he became the final owner. Last fall on account of ill health, he laid aside all farm activities and moved to his present home in Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dr. H.R. Pascoe and J. Howard Pascoe. Mr. Pascoe was a member of the Methodist Church. Fraternally, he was affiliated with Carroll Lodge No. 279 I.O.O.F.
