June 6, 1973 - Carroll Daily Times - The ashes of William H. (Harry) Trowbridge, 79, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Carroll, were interred Saturday morning, June 9, in the Carroll City Cemetery in the Trowbridge family plot. He died March 17. The Rev. Allan M. Peterson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiated at the graveside service. The ashes were brought here in a private plane by Mr. and Mrs. Willard Blackinton and Clark Blackinton, longtime friends, in lieu of relatives who were unable to make the trip for health reasons.

Mr. Trowbridge was born in Carroll March 13, 1893, and lived here until he was 19, when he joined the Navy in World War I. His parents, William and Ida Trowbridge, were longtime residents of Carroll. The rest of his life was spent in San Diego, where his occupations included beekeeping, machinist, gunsmithing, watchmaking, printing and photography.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ed Bruner; a niece, Blanche Bruner; and a nephew, William Dawson, all relatives of California; and three cousins including Mrs. Glenn (Luthera) Weeks of Carroll. Besides remembering his family, Mr. Trowbridge left large bequests to the San Diego Zoo and two trusts — an educational scholarship and a religious endowment.
