CLARENCE C. BEDFORD

Requiem mass for Clarence C. Bedford, 50, Dedham, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at St. Joseph Church in Dedham. The Rev. Louis Anthofer will officiate: and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Bedford, a member of the Carroll County bridge crew for the past 18 years, died unexpectedly of a heart condition while at work five miles southeast of the Carroll Country Club about 9:45 a..m. Monday, April 3.

Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 8 and 9 p.m. Tuesday and at 3, 8, and 9 p.m. Wednesday. Fr. Anthofer will lead the 8 p.m. rosaries both nights.

Mr. Bedford was born at Glidden Oct. 20, 1910, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Charles Bedford. As a young man he was employed by the Dinges Dairy of Carroll, later working for the Dedham Creamery. He had been with the bridge crew since 1943. He was a graduate of Glidden High School and attended Iowa State University, Ames. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dedham. His marriage to Luella Golwitzer took place Nov. 16, 1943, at St. Joseph Church in Dedham, and Rev. Henry Pick officiating. They had made their home in Dedham since then.

Surviving are his wife; two children, Charles and Carol Lee; one brother, Mort Bedford, Carroll; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Plumley, Newcastle Wyo., and Mrs. George Leonard, Glidden; and his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Golwitzer, Dedham.
