June 15, 1922 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Glenn M. King, 18 years old, of near Carrollton, who was accidentally shot by her husband May 20, died in the new Carroll hospital yesterday morning, two days after giving birth to a son. The baby died at birth. Mrs. King had been in the hospital since the day a bullet from a small caliber revolver entered her abdomen, piercing her stomach, intestines and liver and lodging near the spine. The shot was purely accidental, neither Mrs. King nor her husband knowing the revolver contained loaded shells.

Mrs. King formerly was Miss Ora Burgan, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Burgan, of Carrollton. She was born September 16, 1903, at Coon Rapids, a twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Heater. Her twin sister died at the age of three months and the mother died shortly after giving birth to the twins. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Burgan and grew to womanhood in the Carrollton vicinity.

She and Mr. King were married August 31, 1921. She is survived by her husband, her foster parents, and her father, Ora Heater. The direct cause of her death is given as abscess of the liver. Funeral services will be held at the Samuel Burgan home Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and burial will be made in the Carroll cemetery beside the body of her infant son.
