July 21, 1944 - Carroll Times - Funeral services for Mrs Carrie Lasher, 76, of Glidden, who died Wednesday morning, are to be held at the family home at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The home is located three miles north and one mile east of Lidderdale & nine miles northwest of Glidden. the Rev. J H Freedline, minister of the Lanesboro Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Liberty cemetery under direction of the Squires funeral home of Lake city.

Mrs. Lasher, widow of Fred Lasher, has lived in the same section northeast of Lidderdale since her marriage about 55 years ago. She was born Carrie Kuhnes, daughter of Mr & Mrs James Kuhnes, Sept. 17, 1867 at Prairie City, Jasper county, IA. She came to Carroll county, several years before her marriage.

Survivors include seven children; John F Lasher, Lake city; Paul Lasher, Portsmouth, IA; Gould Lasher, Lake city; Glenn Lasher, on the home place; Carrie Lasher, San Diego, CA; Gerald Lasher, Lake City; and Pvt. Fred Lasher, Camp Roberts, CA; 20 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers; Val Kuhnes, Ringling, MT; George Kuhnes, Ridgefield, WA; and David Kuhnes, near Denver, Co.

Her husband died Oct 14, 1925, and a daughter, Mrs Ray Buswell (Geraldine), about 13 years ago. Two sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.

Mrs Lasher was baptized in the Methodist faith. Her death, which occurred at her home, followed a stroke which she suffered about three weeks ago. She had been seriously ill since she was stricken.
