Dec 28, 1936 - Carroll Times - Young Moore of Glidden, 82, father of Carl Moore of Carroll, droped dead of a stroke Sunday morning in front of his old homestead northeast of Lidderdale. County & state patrol officers who investigated the call said Mr Moore's car had run into the ditch a short distance from the farm and that he had started to walk when he was stricken. He dropped dead at the gate.

Mr Moore was on the way to visit this son, Harvey Moore, who lives three miles north and one mile east of Lidderdale. A short distance from his former home, now occupied by the Henry Underberg family, he abandoned the car and started to walk to the Underberg place. Howard Loeschan, newspaper delivery boy, found Mr Moore.

The body was taken Monday afternoon from the Huffman Funeral home to the family home in Glidden. Services will be held at 2 0'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Presbyterian church at Glidden and burial wil be in the East Liberty cemetery. The Masonic service will be used.

Mr. Moore was a native of Canada, where he was born May 29, 1855. For more than half a century he had lived in or near Glidden where he was a prominent citizen. He farmed for many years on the place now occupied by Henry Underberg, moving from there to Glidden.

Surviving Mr Moore are his widow and five sons: John Moore, Boone; Carl Moore, Carroll; Harvey Moore, Glidden; Chester Moore of Minnesota; and Merle Moore, Sioux City. He also leaves a number of grandchildren and one brother, Ross Moore of Clarinda.

One son and one daughter preceded him in death. Mr Moore was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Masonic lodge of Glidden.
