Dec 15, 1977 - Carroll Daily Times - Glidden — Mrs. Harry (Emily) Graves, 83, of Glidden died Wednesday at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Presbyterian Church in Glidden with Rev. Scott Burkley officiating. The casket will be moved to the church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday to lie in state. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Dahn and Wood house Funeral Home, Glidden. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 2 p.m. Friday. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Graves, daughter of John and Emma Dolezal Kotas, was born on Dec. 4, 1894 at Glidden. Her marriage to Harry M. Graves took place on Feb. 8, 1915 at the home of her parents at rural Glidden. They have been residents of the Glidden community since 1929. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965.

Surviving are her husband, Harry of Glidden; two sons, Glenn of Brush, Colo, and John of Loveland, Colo, and two daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Schwenger of Denver, Colo, and Mrs. Louis (Ferne) Wittrock of Carroll, 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Carrie Vorhies of Jefferson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
