Death of Mrs. M. Fogerty

Mary Elizabeth Fogerty died at the home of her son, Thomas J. Fogerty, living three miles west of Mt. Carmel, December 25, 1917, after two months of suffering from cancer of the bowels. Deceased was born August 23, 1861, in Clinton county, Iowa, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ruddy, both of whom have preceded her into the Great Beyond. On June 19, 1882, at Arcadia, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Michael Fogerty. Besides the husband, she leaves one son, Thomas J. Fogerty, of Mt. Carmel; three sisters, Mrs. Julian Gilligan, Storm Lake, Misses Anna and Rose Ruddy, Early; three brothers, Frank Ruddy, of Carroll, and John and Charles, of Early.

Mrs. Fogerty had long been a resident of this vicinity, and had a host of friends who will learn of her demise with genuine sorrow. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church, and was a member of the Christian Mother's Society. Funeral services are being held at Early, Iowa, today and interment will be made in the cemetery at that place.

The Times wishes to join friends of the bereaved family in extending sympathy and condolence.
