Carrollton.

Died, Sunday evening, February 2, Charles Corbin at the age of 85 years and one month. He was born December 31st, 1816, in Webster, Massachusetts, and moved to Clinton county, Iowa, in 1861. He enlisted in the Union army in 1862 and served three years. At the time he enlisted he was 46 years of age, but love of country prompted him to the front. He was married to Lucy Slack June 10, 1836, at Stonington, Connecticut, his wife passing to her reward about a year ago. He was the father of thirteen children, six of whom are now living. They are: Mrs. J. S. Carter of Des Moines, Mrs. F. A. Warrick of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mrs. C. A. Johnson of Auburn, California, C. D. Corbin of Carrollton and S. E. Corbin of Auburn, California. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Percy at Carrollton, Tuesday, February 4th, at 1 p.m., the remains being laid to rest in the Carrollton cemetery. Grandpa Corbin will be missed by all that knew him, as he made friends of every one he met and was a very interesting gentleman. The relatives have the sympathy of all.
