Michael Killeen Of West Side Dies Monday

78-Year-Old Retired Farmer Had Heart Attack

West Side -- Michael Killeen, a retired farmer, died at his home in West Side at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon after being ill of heart trouble for about two weeks. he was seventy-eight years old.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at St. John's Church, Arcadia, with the Rev. M. Stork officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at Arcadia.

Mr. Killeen, a native Iowan, was born at Dubuque, July 20, 1860, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Killeen. In the spring of 1881 he came west with his parents, who settled on a farm in Carroll County, one and one-half miles northwest of West Side. Mr. Killeen lived on this farm until 1914, when he retired and, with his brother, Thomas Killeen, moved to West Side. He had never married.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Kate Farrell of Vail and Mrs. Nellie Cox of Des Moines, and three brothers, Frank, James, and Thomas Killeen, of West Side.

Mr. Killeen was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Maria Lovely of Carroll, and three brothers, Edward Killeen of Carroll, Patrick Killeen of West Side and John Killeen of Vail.
