Death of Mrs. Peter Lovely

Mrs. Peter Lovely, nee Miss Maria Killeen, died Easter morning after an illness of several years with cancer. Everything was done to stay the dreaded disease, but it proved to be useless. Throughout her entire illness however she was in excellent spirits and kept up her courage and hopes until the end.

Mrs. Lovely was born in Dubuque in 1845 (sic) and has lived in Carroll county for many years. Before her marriage to Peter Lovely in 1894 she conducted a millinery store at West Side. After his death in 1912 she made her home in Arcadia until the cyclone at that place a few years ago, when she was quite badly hurt. Since that time her residence has been made at Carroll.

She is survived by the following brother and sisters, Edward, of Carroll, John of Vail, Michael, Thomas, Frank, Patrick of West Side, Mrs. G. W. Cox, of Des Moines and Mrs. Jorn Farrell, of St. Elmo, Minn.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church yesterday morning and burial was made in Arcadia.

(Contributor Note: Headstone for Maria (Killeen) Lovely provides 1854 as the year of birth.)
