Loren Bayliss Dies Suddenly In Florida

Word was received in Carroll yesterday of the death of Loren Bayliss, who for some time past has been in the United States army. No details as to the cause or place of his death have been learned at the time of going ot press, only the fact that he had passed away being transmitted to his parents at Ralston yesterday and through them to the brothers in Carroll.

Loren had been stationed at Fort Logan, Colorado, since leaving Carroll, and a few days ago it became known to the relatives here that he was due to leave shortly for Jacksonville, Florida. The telegram announcing his death came from the latter place, but the general impression gathered from the circumstances is that he died when en route from one place to the other.

The relatives here had no previous knowledge that he had been ill or not feeling in the best of health and spirits, and lacking other details they fear that he has been the victim of an accident. The news of his death came as a shock to the many friends in Carroll and throughout the county.

The parents live at Ralston, one brother, Clyde, is a resident of Carroll, while another brother, Jesse, is in the army and was last heard from at Camp Pike, Arkansas.
