Jane Donaldson Hawver 1834 - 1916

Miss Jane Donaldson was born near Toronto in Upper Canada Nov. 26, 1834 and died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Flossie Krall, in St. James, Minn., June 5th, 1916, aged 81 years, 6 months and 10 days.

In childhood she moved to Olge County, Illinois, with her parents. She was married to Alexander Hawver in Polo, Ill., March 1856. To this union were born two children, Dr. Birtsel H. and Wm. Grant, the latter died in infancy and the Doctor on July 4, 1903.

She moved to Viola Township, Audubon Co., Ia., in 1879, and from there to Dedham in 1885 where she resided until the past year, which was spent with her granddaughter, Mrs. J. A. Krall, St. James, Minn.

She took membership with the United Brethren church in girlhood and remained an active member of the same until Rev. Harvey’s ministry in Dedham at which time she united with the Methodist Church of which she remained a member until death.

She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Flora Bruce of Coon Rapids, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Anna Hawver, of St. James, Minn., two granddaughters, Mrs. Maude Hicks of Hardin, Montana, and Mrs. Flossie Krall, of St. James, Minn.

The funeral was held Wednesday at Dedham. Rev. Lyles of Manning conducted the services. Burial took place in the Dedham cemetery.
