I don't think this is the same family, but IN a census from crawford co. George's parents were from Ohio. AFter searching many of the george brown's in the state of IOwa, I found a census record from 1856, Poweshiek co. and it lists a James, Elizabeth and george. I cannot find any more info. George married Effie mae farber in greene co, and they moved to crawford co. He left in the early 1900's and never was heard from again. Thanks Rebecca_bonacci@yahoo.com
