thanks for your response. It is good to know about Behrens. I don't know if any of those in the family came.... My information of past Behrens stopped at the marriage of my Johann Juergen Meyer marriage to Maria Elisabeth Behrens. So far until then the ancestors had names of Christoph, Frantz, Hans, Heinrich, Juergen and Johan. No Williams. But the name for my great grandfather came from somewhere. Maybe, the wifes family. Perhaps new members into the family. I have seen his babtismal sponsers names, but I don't know if they were related.
I was able to contact the one of the two Behrens family in Neetzendorf and they didn't know if they connected to mine. I should have asked them if any of their family came to usa. As for their neighbors the meyer...I was told some name Werner Schuh had those in family???
On the ship over I did see the name Dagevohr. Who connected with my William Meyer wifes family, Heins of the Bergen area. Now there were many references to Behrens in that area. Lange, Lohman Brookman or Brockman. One Dageforede did settle in either Cedar or Fort Dodge area. Several Behrens in Martin county are of Mn area also...
WE had family friends with the name Husky at fort dodge and I saw a family by name of Elmer Nahnsen connected to there. I don't know the name of the the wife of Husky.
If i ever learn anything more I can get back unless what i mentioned seems like it could be yours.
