I am curious about your mention of the Behrens name.Henry William Behrens(1854-1916)bn Hanover, was in Pomeroy between 1880 and 1892 with wife Sophia Lantfer/Landpher and their children Emma,Henry, Mina/Minnie, Fred.
They are next in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Are these Behrens the ones you mention.
