Mrs. Heye Seehusen Dies Last Thursday
Mrs. Heye Seehusen, 26 years of age, died last Thursday evening at about eight o’clock. About two weeks ago Mrs. Seehusen suffered a fall near the Lutheran church in Palmer, which was evidently the cause of her illness and death. She is survived by her husband and two small children who have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The following obituary was read by the pastor at the funeral service.
Obituary – Our deceased sister, Sena Seehusan, nee Aden, was born February 24th, 1907, in Pocahontas County, Iowa, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Gerhard Adan of Pocahontas County. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where she was also receiving instruction and was confirmed in 1920 by the Rev. Tiede. Her girlhood days were spent in her father and mother’s home in Pocahontas County. February 4th, 1927, she was married to Heye Seehusen. This union was blessed with two children, one son, Wayne, aged four, and one daughter, Marcella, aged two. The family has lived in the neighborhood of Pomeroy until March 1st of this year when they moved to a farm about 6 ½ miles northeast of Palmer. Last Monday she suffered a hemorrhage, but became better the next day, but on Wednesday her condition became worse. Thursday her condition was such that she was advised to go to a hospital for a blood transfusion. However, she passed away a few miles from home, Thursday evening at about 8 o’clock, enroute to the hospital. Her age at the time of her death was 26 years and 27 days. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and two children, her parents, six sisters and two brothers, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock in St. Johns’ Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. The Rev. H. Meyer of Pomeroy had charge of the German service and the Rev. Hannemann of Palmer had charge of the English services. The church was filled to overflowing with sorrowing relatives and friends. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Pomeroy.
