Eileen A. Lundeen
(August 25, 1938 - February 15, 2022)

Eileen A. Lundeen – age 83, of Pomeroy, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Eileen Alice Peterson was born August 25, 1938, on the family farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. She was the daughter of Orville and Pearl (Olson) Peterson. Eileen graduated from the Pomeroy High School in 1956. She went on to attend a Business School in Minnesota. She then worked for General Mills in Minneapolis and then Des Moines. Eileen returned to Pomeroy in the summer of 1958 and began working as a secretary for the Pomeroy Schools. On December 27, 1958, Eileen was united in marriage to Larry Lundeen at the Covenant Church near Pomeroy. The couple lived in Pomeroy for a short time before moving to a farm near town. In 1972, they settled on the family farm near Pomeroy where Eileen was a farm wife, helping Larry with day-to-day operations. Eileen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was a choir director for many years. She loved playing the organ and piano. She started her career in music teaching piano lessons to many. Eileen played at many weddings and funerals and for multiple churches in the area, including the Covenant Church and was the Choir Director for the United Church of Christ. She was also an accompanist at high school events for many years. In her free time, Eileen loved scrap booking, collecting antiques and writing about family history. Survivors include her husband, Larry of Pomeroy; daughter, Amy (Richard) Moores of Sioux City; son, Marty (Tania) Lundeen of Itasca, IL; grandchildren, Alexandria Julius, Ian Julius, Margo Lundeen and Stella Lundeen and a sister, Carol Becker of Yankton, SD.
