David Bruce Ford

David B. Ford – age 72, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home in Lake City, Iowa, with his wife Cindy by his side. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City, Iowa. Lampe & Powers Funeral Home of Lake City is handling the arrangements. David Bruce Ford was born February 15, 1950 in Lake City, Iowa. He was the son of Chuck and Delores (Fischer) Ford. Dave graduated from West View High School of Lake City in 1968. He attended college at Buena Vista University and Ellsworth Community College. On July 10, 1970, Dave was united in marriage to Cindy Dumdei at Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City. The couple settled in Lake City where Dave worked as a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent in Rockwell City. After 43 years, Dave semi-retired in November of 2020. Dave earned and was a qualified Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, which recognizes the top 1% life insurance agents of the world. He also qualified for the Royal Court of Honor in 1985. He earned the high seat as King of the Royal Court that year. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Dave enjoyed traveling the world with Cindy, including parts of Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaii. He loved to gamble and watch the Iowa Hawkeyes. Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of Lake City; sons, Shane (Crystal) Ford of Dows and Brett Ford of Lake City; grandchildren, Kennedie Ford, Nolan Ford and Lauren Ford; great-granddaughter, Kamille Ford and sister, Vicki Tasler of Lake City.
