William Ernest Scott
(May 12, 1867 – February 3, 1949)Obituary
William Ernest Scott, son of William F. and Josephine Davis Scott, was born near Mahomat, Ill., May 12, 1867, and died Febr. 3, 1949, while a resident of Lake City, Iowa. Mr. Scott came to Calhoun County, Iowa in 1902. In 1890 he was united in marriage to Minnie Lott. To them were born two daughters, Merle Jane and Leona. In December of 1922 he was married to Mrs. Anna Pittman Hubbard, the wedding taking place in Ogden, Ill. Mr. Scott was an active member of the Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees for many years. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, one brother, his first wife in 1920, and a stepson. Surviving are his devoted wife, Mrs. Anna Scott; two daughters, Mrs. E. A. (Merle) Davis of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. O. C. (Leona) Pfaff, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mabel Harper of Champaign, Ill.; a sister, and one half sister, also a host of neighbors and friends. Funeral services were conducted in the Trinity Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., Feb. 6, 1949. His minister, the Rev. Warren A. Bintz, was in charge. Burial was in Lake City Cemetery.
