Patricia Anne Campbell
(April 30, 1942 - November 26, 2022)

Patricia Anne Campbell, 80, of Lake City, IA, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at her home in Lake City following a long battle with Parkinson’s. Pat was born on April 30, 1942, in Rockwell City to parents Clifford and Bonita (Sappenfield) Woody. She grew up on a farm northwest of Lake City where she attended grade school and high school, graduating with the “incredible class of 1960”. Pat met the love of her life, Danny Campbell, in middle school and they dated off and on throughout high school. They would often joke about who was the chaser and who was the chasee. Dan and Pat were united in marriage on April 16, 1961, at the Presbyterian Church in Yetter, IA. This union was blessed with four children: William, Marc, Audrey, and Tommy.
It has been said that it takes a special woman to be a truck driver’s wife, and Pat lived up to the task. She juggled all the details of that, and several other jobs, while raising the 4 kids. From owning a macrame shop to painting, crocheting, cooking, sewing, and gardening, she kept busy in her ‘free’ time. Her love of crafts helped keep Cub Scout Troop 141 occupied when she was a Den Mother. She had her own bean walking crew for many years and still holds the record for the number of people that a 1966 Ford Galaxie can hold when going to the field. The open-door policy at Pat’s house was enjoyed by many friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. But throughout the majority of her life, her family was her greatest joy and she took pride in being the biggest cheerleader and supporter of her kids, and more recently her 13 grandkids. Pat loved with all her heart and gave everything she had to her family, and we are all better for her sacrifices. Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 61 years Danny, her children: William (Candi) Campbell of Cloverdale, IN, Marc Campbell of Lake City, IA, Audrey Hurley (Matt Johnson) of Brandon, SD, and Tommy (Amy) Campbell of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Jake (Jen) Campbell, Ethan (Allison) Campbell, Keith Campbell, Alanne (Andres) Parra, Mathen Campbell, Alyssa (Brandon) Vondrak, Sean Hurley, Christian (Shelby) Campbell, Ragina (Dustin) Rowen, Coulter (Caitlin) Campbell, Reno Doty, Alexander (McKailey) Campbell, Alexia Kvale and Gracie Campbell; great-grandchildren: Isla, Angus, Charlotte, Baylor, Presley, Keyah, and Jaxon; siblings: Don (Mary Jo) Woody, Nancy (Gary) Sorenson, and Jeanne (GW) Hartley; sister-in-law Shirley Beckman; and many other extended family members and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Bonita Woody; in-laws Dave and Maye Campbell; sister-in-law Joan Ogren; infant nephew David Ogren; brother-in-law Lee Campbell; and niece Susan Campbell. The family wishes to express thanks to the wonderful crew at Shady Oaks for the care she received during her stay, as well as the home health care they provided. And a very special heartfelt appreciation, if that were only sufficient, to the crew of awesome caregivers from KINDRED HOSPICE.
