Lucy Kruchten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kruchten, was born April 5, 1871, on a farm near Pomeroy and died at her home in Pomeroy Dec. 15, 1937, of a sudden heart attack at the age of 66. The daughter of pioneer settlers in the Pomeroy locality, she herself knew the rigors of pioneer life. She received her education in the rural schools. On Feb. 24, 1892, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Drommer. They began their home life on the Drommer farm a mile south of Pomeroy and continued to reside there until 1923, when they retired from farming and moved into Pomeroy. Mrs. Drommer was an active member of the Methodist Church and also of Ruby Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. S. L. Nelson of Lohrville and Mrs. W. G. Loots of Pomeroy and Claire of Fonda; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Vincent Fuchs of Fonda; two brothers, Sylvester of Pomeroy and John of Fonda, and many other relatives.
