Vera Drommer, age 96, passed away on April 5, 2012, at the Pomeroy Care Center. Vera Caroline Meyer was born on March 27, 1916, at Pomeroy to Emma Kretlow Meyer and George R. Meyer. Vera was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pomeroy and confirmed there in l930. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church School, Pomeroy High School and graduated from Jolley High School in l934. Vera worked as a telephone operator in Pomeroy. She married Harley M. Drommer on December 17, 1939, at Pomoeryand they lived on a farm a mile south of Pomeroy until they moved to the family farm two miles south of Pomeroy. They adopted a baby boy in l946, Daryl Don Drommer. Harley passed away on April 3, 1974, and Vera moved into Pomeroy in l979. She was a Lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, L.W.M.L., a member of Senior Citizen organization, Pomeroy Kitchen Band that entertained at many care centers, and Hospice of Stewart Memorial Hospital. Vera loved to quilt, do embroidery, and she enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, especially violets. Vera is survived by two granddaughters, Christine Bergren and Suzanne Schran, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harley in l974, her son Daryl in l993, sisters Roberta Cross and Leona Pullen and brother Loren Meyer.
