(February 7, 1954 - August 27, 2023)

Joseph Koster age 69 of Lake City, Iowa passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa. Joseph Kermit Koster was born February 7, 1954, to parents Kermit and Elsie (Wolterman) Koster in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up the 5th of 10 children in the Breda and Wall Lake areas where he graduated from Wall Lake High School with the class of 1972. On May 17, 1986, Joseph was united in marriage to Patricia Grimsman at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in rural Breda, IA. They were blessed with 3 children Stacy, Brett, and Brock. Joseph loved cars and spent most of his adult life working on them at his shop, the JK Collision Center, doing body and framework. He later worked for 5 years for the United States Postal Service. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, working on cars, and watching the Chicago Cubs. When his kids were growing up, he helped coach Little League and taught catechism at the church. Most of all he enjoyed being a dad and grandpa. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife: Patricia Koster of Lake City, IA; Children: Stacy (Jon) Hill of Beaverton, OR, Brett (Dani) Koster of Ankeny, IA, Brock Koster of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Briar and Callahan Koster, and Ethan Hill; Siblings: David Koster, Janet Koster, Catherine Justice, Raymond (Lori) Koster, Barbara (Joe) Legler, Rose (Tom) Robeson, Edward (Shelly) Koster.
