Pat Koster, age 66 of Lake City, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Patricia Ann was born on January 24, 1957, to parents Harry and Thelma (Balk) Grimsman in Carroll, IA. Pat grew up in Arcadia, IA, where she attended school and graduated from AR-WE-VA High School with the class of 1975. After graduation, Pat continued her education at Iowa Central Community College, earning her degrees in Maintenance Electrical, and Radiologic Technology.
On May 17, 1986, Pat was united in marriage to Joseph Koster. This union was blessed with three children: Stacy, Brett, and Brock. They raised their family in Lake City, where Pat worked as a Radiology Technician at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital for over 20 years, and prior to that, she worked at GE in Carroll. In her free time, Pat enjoyed watching game shows, socializing, playing games, and traveling. Most of all, Pat cherished her time spent with her children and randchildren. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stacy (Jon) Hill of Beaverton, OR, Brett (Danielle) Koster of Ankeny, IA, and Brock Koster of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Ethan Hill, Briar and Callahan Koster; siblings: Sue (Duane) Greving of Carroll, IA, Barb (Randy) Koening of Ankeny, IA, Carolyn Grimsman of Ames, IA, and Georgeen (Ralph) Taylor of WI; many co-workers, extended family members, and several friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Betty (Don) Koski, Helen (Lloyd) Brown, and Michael.
