Laurena "Lorey" Jackson
(January 18, 1961 - March 29, 2024)

Laurena Jackson, age 63 of Lake City, IA, passed away on March 29, 2024, at University Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Laurena “Lory” Marie was born on January 18, 1961, in Lake City, IA to parents Roy and Joan (Hendricks) Schaffer. She grew up in the Lohrville/Lake City area where she attended school and graduated from Lohrville High School. Lory was united in marriage to Doug Schleisman and was blessed with three children: Jake, Kelli, and Mallory. They later divorced. Lory worked as a medical receptionist for McCrary Rost Clinic for 43 years where she enjoyed helping others. On June 26, 2009, Lory was united in marriage to her soulmate Jason Jackson at the Lake City Union Church. Together they loved to go on road trips including asparagus hunting and deer scouting. Lory was an active member of the Lake City Saddle Club, and the annual rodeo was a highlight of her year. She loved spending time on the acreage where she and Jackson built their forever home with their own hands. Lory loved to make her garden bigger every year and share the fruits of her labor with anyone she knew, including making sure everyone had a carload of pumpkins to take home with them. She never missed a chance for a casino road trip with her sister Sue and mother Joan. Most of all, Lory cherished her time spent with her family and grandchildren, including hosting the annual week-long grandma camp with all the grandkids. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Jake (Kate) Schleisman of Polk City, IA, Kelli (Jeff) Clampitt of Carthage, IL, and Mallory (Jason) King of Coon Rapids, IA; grandchildren: Parker and Brayton Schleisman, Rylee, Grady, and Wesley Clampitt, and Alivia, Lane, and Brynn King; siblings: Randy (Laura) Schaffer, Ed (Joan) Schaffer, and Sue (Jim) Janssen; mother-in-law Linda Jackson. Lory was preceded in death by her husband Jason Jackson, parents, and grandparents. Source - Copyright Lampe & Powers Funeral Home, (712) 464-7665, https://www.powersfh.net
