Special to the Times-Republican

Manson, March 30- William Folkers, Sr., of this place, committed suicide by strangling himself with a rope while lying in bed. He had become partially paralyzed a few years ago so as to aid him in moving around in bed a rope had been tied to the bed post by which he could raise up and it was with this that he committed the act.

Since his sickness he has shown signs of being unbalanced at times, but no one thought that he would injure himself so he was allowed to do as he pleased and lived alone with his aged wife adjoining the residence of his son William, who operates the electric light plant here. He was a native of Germany and was about 75 years old. He was left quite well to do by a son’s death several years ago, inheriting a fair estate and considerable life insurance.
