Death of Mrs. Troxel

Mrs. Margaret Troxel died at her late home, seven miles southwest of Lohrville, Friday, April 28. She was born in Switzerland on May 12, 1831, and was consequently 67 years, 11 months and 16 days of age on the date of her death. In 1858 she was married to John Troxel and to them 7 children were born; four sons and three daughters.

The family came to the United States in 1869 and located in Illinois, removing thence to this community seven years ago. In her beautiful native land and in childhood she became a devoted Christian, walking with God to the end of her earthly life. For the eight months preceeding her death she was a great but patient suffer. The angel found her house in order and took her to a mansion not built with hands. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. W. Carr, at the M. E. church in this place Sunday at 11 a.m. All her children were present to pay a loving tribute to their beloved mother whose years and strength had been given for them; two coming from beyond the bounds of the state. A large number of friends and acquaintances attended the funeral and showed deserved sympathy for the bereaved husband and children. The remains were laid to rest in the Lohrville cemetery. All who knew her life and Christian faith joined in saying “Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.”
