Funeral services for Helen Marica Gorton,74, of Rockdale, Texas, formerly of Lake City, were held Saturday, August 23, 1986, at 10:00a.m. at Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City. Rev. Joe Tropansky officiated. Burial was at Lake City Cemetery. She died Tuesday evening, August 19, 1986, at the Manor Oaks Nurshing Home, rockdale, Texas.

Helen Marica Gorton was born at Ralston, Iowa, on April 3, 1912, the daughter of James David and Willie McDonald Casey. She was a resident of Lake City most of her life having spent 5 years in Oklahoma and the past 2 years in Rockdale Texas. She was married at Lake City on March 17, 1941 to Russell Dale Gorton.

Helen Gorton was a 30 year member of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron of the Lake Queen Chapter and member of the First American Baptist Church in Lake City. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Pat Smith, Rockdale, Texas and Miss Donna Gorton, Austin, Texas; three brothers, Bernard Casey, and Gerald Casey, both of Rockwell City, Iowa. Also survivng are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was precededin death by her husband, son Charles, granddaughter Lisa Douthitt, and sister Edna Vikto.
