Fred Davis, 82, of Lake City died Sunday, September 12, 1976 at the Sunny Knoll Care Center at Rockwell City.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Huffman Memorial Chapel. Interment was at the Lake City Cemetery with the Rev. Stewart Congdon officiating.

Mr. Davis was born to Bill and Ella Hall Davis on September 19, 1893 at Ramsey, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Brown on Feb. 26, 1919 at Vandalia, Ill. The couple moved to Iowa in 1920. He farmed in the Jolley area until retirement in 1962. He lived in the Lake City area for the past 14 and one-half years.

Surviving with his wife are one son, Leonard of Manson; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Brown of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Leo Rost of Manson and Mrs. Harold McChesney of Lake City; 33 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Honorary casket bearers were Gary Reeves, Randy Kaiser, Donald Alstott, Wayne Kuhlman, Steve Jones, Kenny Ray Brown, Dwight Habben, Jim Brown, and Laverne Hammond.

Casket bearers were Duane Davis, Bernard Rost, Virgil Brown, Bob Davis, Delbert Rost and Bud Clearwater.
